Q: Is it permissible to email proposals?
A: Yes, it is the preferred method of delivery. Contracting Officer will confirm receipt of all proposals submitted by email.
Q: I reviewed what was posted are there any other specifications to the modular itself? EX: Things like finishes, type of doors, windows ect. Should we assume “replace in kind” to the existing trailer as there are some details on the drawings that was posted on the old trailer.
A: Yes, that information is in the specification.
Q: Does the IBC take precedence over the basis of design drawings?
Drawing E101, electrical note #2 requires NM Romex (CU) with ground. IBC Commercial Construction does not allow Romex.
A: Yes it does. MC cable shall be used throughout.
Q: Are duct smoke detectors required in HVAC units with 2000 CFM or less air flow?
A: Yes, duct smoke detectors are required.
Q: On the statement of work you gave out today in section C.4 it says a “subcontracting agreement is expected” with the named fire and alarm system companies listed. Please clarify what is meant by that? Is that something the bidder is responsible for?
A: You will need to use NB Barber for the fire alarm system, and yes, the bidder is responsible for this.
Q: Comm room A/C unit Frigidaire FFTA1033S2 is a residential unit. Is that the intent?
A: Yes. That is the intent.
Q: Will 10,000 BTU be enough to sufficiently cool the comm room?
A: Without knowing the loads, it is our best guess. So the answer is yes.
Q: These types of fire systems typically have a monthly monitoring fee once commissioned (sort of like ADT in a house) we are not responsible for the monthly fee if there is any.
A: Correct, the FAA monitors its own system.
Q: It is our understanding that supply and installation of the new office furniture is not included in our scope of work for this project. Is this assumption correct?
A: The FAA has awarded the office furniture contract to Unicor. Unicor will be doing the Furniture Installation also.
Q: If the furniture installation is not part of our contract is it safe to assume that the associated power poles and electrical work will be done by the furniture installer. The power poles and installing them are part of the furniture order.
A: The Electrical work is part of the modular office trailer contract.
Q: If the furniture installation is not part of our contract is it safe to assume that the data wiring for the furniture is also not part of our contract.
A: Data wiring for the furniture is part of the modular office trailer contract.
Q:Are we to include the installation of the ladder rack as per note 9 on drawing E102? If so note 9 calls for a 24” rack and Detail A/E102 calls for a 36” ladder rack. Which is correct?
A: What is needed is a 2 post 19” 42U rack for the servers. There is also 36” cable tray that comes up the wall and extends to the server rack.
Q: As discussed during the pre-bid meeting, please clarify what hardware will be needed for the card reader. Also, will it be one door or both for the double doors? Please clarify.
A: The card reader/security portion of the requirement (including all Johnson Controls related verbiage) is hereby removed from the Specifications. That portion of this work will be a FY17 requirement that will be separately competed.
