About this file
This document is a Special Conditions attachment for a Tucson Water contract (Contract #202262) for the procurement of Disinfection Containment Vaults dated December 1, 2014. The project involves the fabrication and delivery of 10 disinfection spill containment vaults, with the first vault to be numbered 127, to be delivered to Tucson Water's Santa Cruz Lane A-Zone Reservoir at 2650 S. 12th Ave., Tucson, AZ. Tucson Water intends to order and receive 5 vaults within 60 days after contract award, with the successful bidder required to provide a proposed delivery schedule and recovery plan to meet the approximately 60-day delivery deadline.
The contract specifies detailed requirements for the vaults, including structural specifications such as structural steel, lifting lugs, fiberglass I-beam pockets, and I-beams. Each vault must be provided with a protective cover that encloses the top and extends down the sides at least 6 inches, capable of withstanding winds up to 50 mph and protecting the vault for a minimum of 6 months in Tucson weather. The successful bidder must ensure all materials are new, comply with the latest standards (AWWA, ASME, ASTM, SSPC), and submit shop drawings, samples, and documentation for engineering review. The contract emphasizes quality control, requiring all work to be done in a thorough, workmanlike manner and allowing the engineer to test and inspect materials at the point of origin or the work site.
