About this file
This document is an Attachment W containing property claims and windstorm loss details for the State of Florida's Division of Risk Management, covering fiscal years from 2015 to 2025. The data provides a comprehensive breakdown of property claims paid, categorized into Named Windstorm & Flood and All Other Perils, with detailed records of the number of claims and amounts paid annually. The document includes a total of 10,996 property claims across the ten-year period, with total payments reaching $154,706,490, and a separate table detailing named windstorm losses since 2016, listing 15 specific storm events with their occurrence dates, number of claims filed, and total losses including adjusting expenses.
The loss data reveals significant variations in claim volumes and payment amounts across fiscal years, with notable peaks during hurricane seasons. For instance, Hurricane Irma in 2017 and Hurricane Michael in 2018 each resulted in over 3,000 claims with losses exceeding $32 million. The most recent hurricanes, including Debby, Helene, and Milton in 2024, are noted as having estimated losses based on claims filed and ongoing adjusting activities. The document explicitly states that the claim counts and amounts paid per fiscal year do not represent the total estimated losses for the three 2024 hurricanes, indicating that claims are still being processed and evaluated.

Note (1)
- Named Windstorm and Flood includes all wind, flood and lightning claims associated with a named windstorm event.
Note (2)
- All Other Perils include claims from other perils covered by the Risk Management Trust Fund's property certificate, including fire, hail, smoke, sinkhole, explosion, lightning, flood, and windstorm claims unrelated to a named windstorm event.
Additional Notes - Claim counts and amounts paid represent the number of claims with payments and the amounts which were paid during each fiscal year. The total amounts paid per named windstorm event are provided on the next page. The Division is still adjusting open Hurricane Debby, Helene, and Milton claims from the 2024 hurricane season, and therefore the claim counts and amounts paid per fiscal year do not respresent the total estimated losses for the three hurricanes.
