About this file
This document is an Amendment No. 1 to Invitation for Bids (IFB) No. 25-00001 issued by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) for sowing and growing 85,000 Ponderosa Pine seedlings. The amendment clarifies key procurement details, including that seedlings will need to be ready for planting by April 2027, and vendors can use 8-10" pot sizes based on their professional experience. The procurement allows for seedling cultivation in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, with a requirement for paper pots or equivalent plugs (no bare roots). Unused seeds must be returned to the WDFW Project Manager, and vendors should incorporate cold storage costs (up to two months) into their bid pricing.
The amendment provides flexibility for potential bidders by allowing multiple state locations for seedling production and permitting vendors to determine appropriate pot sizes. The procurement emphasizes specialized requirements such as using plugs instead of bare root seedlings and returning unused seeds, indicating a precise approach to seedling cultivation. While specific pricing details are not disclosed in this amendment, the document suggests the contract values technical expertise in seedling propagation and preservation of genetic characteristics. The amendment maintains the original solicitation's core specifications while providing additional clarity to potential bidders, which could help ensure more accurate and competitive bid submissions.
