About this file

This Design Narrative details a construction project for a loading dock and dock leveler at Building 3113 on Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, scheduled for completion on July 14, 2025. The project involves constructing a new loading dock platform with specific requirements including stairs, guard rails, a manually operated dock leveler, and a spill containment system designed to handle hazardous chemical deliveries.

Key technical specifications include using 4000 psi concrete, reinforcing steel per ASTM standards, and designing the structure to withstand wind speeds up to 109 mph. The civil scope involves replacing existing concrete pavement, installing a trench drain system, and adding protective bollards around existing equipment. Structural considerations include designing foundations and superstructure to support storage staging loads and 6K forklift traffic, with provisions for proper drainage and egress pathways. The project will incorporate safety features like non-slip stairs, removable guardrails, and a spill containment basin capable of holding spilled materials and precipitation during remediation.
