About this file

This Addendum No. 1, issued by the Town of Strasburg, Virginia on May 4, 2026, provides clarifications and technical specifications for the procurement of one dump truck for the Public Works Department. The solicitation seeks a 2025-2026 model dump truck with a GVWR of 25,999 pounds to replace an existing vehicle in the town's fleet. Key specifications include a preferred International or Freightliner chassis, a 300 HP diesel engine, an Allison 2500 RDS automatic transmission, a 10-foot dump body with no preference on manufacturer, rubber undercoating covering the entire underside, and capability to haul dirt, rock, concrete, asphalt, stone, and salt. The vehicle is required for delivery within 60 calendar days of purchase order issuance, though extended timelines may be considered if the identified truck is not currently available. Sealed bids are due by 2:00 PM on May 15, 2026, with the deadline for submitting technical questions established as 2:00 PM on May 11, 2026. Public bid opening and reading will follow immediately after the bid submission deadline.

The addendum clarifies that the Allison 2500 RDS transmission is preferred over the 2200 RDS alternative, and 300 HP is mandatory rather than an acceptable 260 HP alternative. All quoted prices must be FOB Destination with transportation and delivery costs included; payment will be made within 30 days of invoice receipt and vehicle acceptance via ACH. Bid validity extends for 90 days following the bid opening date. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder determined to be in the best interest of the Town, subject to available funding and required approvals. All other contract documents and technical specifications remain unchanged from the original solicitation. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signature and include the signed acknowledgment with their bid package.
