The CONTRACTOR shall be required to stir and turn over the contaminated material each day for a consecutive period of five (5) days to allow for the fuel or oil to volatize. The contaminated material must be kept dry during this time and should be covered prior to any rainfall event. Once volatization has occurred, the material should be thinly spread across the entire site.
2.10b Major Spills or Leaks: The contaminated material shall be tested in accordance with ADEM requirements by a qualified laboratory to determine the total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) content. If the material exceeds 100 ppmTPH additional drying and testing shall be required until the material meets the minimum TPH content. The CONTRACTOR shall then spread the previously contaminated material across the entire site.
