About this file

This is an Addendum No. 1 to a sealed bid invitation issued by Fort Valley State University for the replacement of boilers in the Bond, Troup, and Peabody Buildings, project NBP #25076. The addendum, dated December 2, 2025, modifies the original bidding documents from October 15, 2025. The project involves the replacement of boilers and associated HVAC equipment, including axial fans, unit heaters, chimney venting systems, makeup water stations, and chemical feeders across three campus buildings located in Fort Valley, Georgia. Sealed bids must be physically delivered to the FVSU Wilson Roberts Building Conference Room 1 by 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at which time bids will be publicly opened and announced. The addendum specifies six contractors pre-approved to submit qualifications: Copper Construction, Greene and Associates, Hamlin Air, JM Clayton, Kent Mechanical, and United Boiler. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum on their bid forms to avoid disqualification.

The addendum addresses ten clarifications through responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), including specifications for boiler pad requirements, combustion air requirements for each building, approved fan manufacturers, makeup water device components, roofing contractor selection, roof cap specifications, chimney duct demolition and replacement procedures, and equipment placement corrections. New specification sections were added: Section 23 3413 for Axial HVAC Fans and Section 23 8101 for Terminal Heat Transfer Units, detailing approved manufacturers, product standards, installation requirements, and quality assurance procedures. The specifications require UL-listed electrical components, factory-applied finishes, and compliance with OSHA safety regulations for all equipment installations.
