About this file

This document is an addendum for the Career Connect Campus - Technology Bid Package, issued by the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency. The addendum clarifies and changes specifications for the project, including revisions to the Alternates Form, schedule updates, and responses to RFIs. The project requires a single prime contractor to provide a full technology package, including AV, security, and other systems. The bid due date has been extended to January 16, 2024. No partial bids will be accepted, and there are no union or prevailing wage requirements for the project. Performance and payment bonds are required. The addendum provides detailed responses to contractor questions on topics such as cable counts, speaker zones, access control, and camera specifications. Additionally, the addendum includes revised drawings and an updated Alternates Form that changes the base bid and alternate for larger display sizes in conference rooms.

The contract will be awarded to a single prime contractor responsible for the full technology package. Pricing should include performance and payment bonds. The project is funded by the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency, and no set-asides or incumbents are specified. The addendum provides clarifications and changes to address contractor questions and concerns regarding the project requirements and specifications.

P:\Kalamazoo\214175 KRESA Career & Technical Edu Campus\G) CA\G10 Bid Docs\Technology Bid Package\_RFI Log draft.xlsx

Date Question Answer

12/22/2023 Are there any locations not mentioned in the preceeding four questions that need cables?

Refer to T7.3 Information Outlet Schedule. The jacks listed reference the # of cables per faceplate, and Section 27 11 00 for patch cable requirements.

1/3/2024

Should the jack schedule in the lower left correspond to the number of cables pulled to that location?

Yes, jack schedule has been revised in

Addendum 2.

1/3/2024

Camera locations listed as "C1" get one cable and jack according to the schedule, yet previous RFI response indicates 2 cables are required. Which is it? Example: Stairway near column 13/N on T1.1E shows two camera locations with a CM number which correlates to one drop per the chart.

2-cables per Addendum 2.

1/3/2024 There are camera locations that shown on

T2.1E that do not show on T1.1E.

T2.1E is an AV drawing showing AV cameras.

T1.1E shows Security cameras.

1/3/2024

Comparing the AV prints which show camera locations, some are not shown on the technology prints. Please confirm locations.

The AV prints show AV device locations while the technology prints show network device, paging, and security device locations.

1/3/2024

There are references to "CM-4" that by the chart only get one cable which differs from a previous RFI answer which states a 2-port faceplate is required for cameras. Is it to be a two-port faceplate and one cable?

Summary is, how many cables are to be at each camera?

Security cameras (CM-#) shall receive 2-cables and 2-port faceplace. This will be updated in

Addendum 2.

1/9/2024

The equipment schedule does not include a definition for the symbol AV-HDMIDA, as shown in the C100 Comp Systems drawing

(T3.11, fig. 2). It has been assumed that this is an Extron DA4 HD 4K Plus. Please confirm.

The Basis of Design is based on an Atlona RON-

444: 4K HDR 4-Output HDMI Distribution

Amplifier. The Extron DA4 HD 4K Plus is an acceptable alternate.

1/9/2024

The description for AV equipment item AV-

MP2-REC includes a generic call-out for a

Countryman, but does not specify a type or model. It is assumed that this is intended to refer to a headset type mic. Therefore, we have included the H6 series headset. Please confirm that this is acceptable.

The E6 or H6 are acceptable.

1/9/2024

The Addendum 2 dialog indicates that three electrical (E series) drawings have been revised. The E series drawings have not been provided with this package, and do not appear to be part of the scope of this bid.

The original Alternates Form doesn’t appear to match the alternates as currently called out on the drawings. The originally provided form has Alternate #1 as changing 110” displays in

F110 & F210 down to 98” displays. The current drawings (per T2.1F) ask for an alternate to change 98” displays in F110 up to 110” displays. Will a new Alternates Form be issued? Please confirm what is currently expected as alternates.

With the access control system being changed to Avigilon ACM, there are two PoE controllers available. They are the LP1501 &

MR62e. The LP1501 is a single-door controller (Not 2-door as listed in the Spec) and has no additional inputs for bringing in additional monitored points. This board is limited to a single-door application. The

MR62e can provide two full doors of access with additional inputs and outputs for additional monitored points. This is close to the Open Path controller originally spec’d.

These boards require a network controller to function. The LP1502 can support up to 64

MR62e boards. With the size of this project, it will require a minimum of (3) LP1502 controllers and an enclosure to house the boards and power supply. Which PoE controller is to be bid? It could be a a combination of the two based on the requirements to bring in monitored points or additional full access doors. (Specification sheets are attached)

Provide a 2-door controller as specified.

1/17/2024

Portions of the access control spec look like it was not written for PoE boards as it calls out for power supplies, relay boards, and separate terminal blocks for all connections before landing them on the boards. This is not typical for these boards. If this is a requirement larger enclosures and additional components are necessary. If not, a smaller enclosure can be used and eliminating the terminal blocks, power supplies, and relay boards.

The Specification lists the power supplies, relay boards, and terminal blocks for all connections in the event the project will require the traditional architecture for connectivity. It is not required to be provided if not required as part of the install.

The contratcor shall use it for reference only.

1/17/2024

4 DAS?

Access control tech drawings differ from the hardware schedule provided for reference in

Addendum 3. i.e. T1.2A door from

Collaboration CR201A to Outdoor Terrace

D101C has a card reader on only the interior while the hardware schedule has it on both sides, similar to the door between the

Outdoor Terrace and Admin Open Office

A201H that also accesses the Outdoor

Terrace. Are we to follow the door hardware schedule or the T-series sheets. SImilarly, sheet T1.2B, the door between Instructional

Studios B201 and B202 shows no card readers while the door schedule has one on each side.

This will be reviewed and updated. For bidding purposes and In the event of a discrepancy, follow the T-series sheets and specifications.

1/17/2024

Similarly, VS-CM-6 would be 20C-H5A-4MH-

360.

The provided part #s are acceptable. Replace CM-

3, and CM-6 with updated part #, 1/17/2024

VS-CM-2 description states "2-Channel" but the model number is a 3-head. Confirm this should be 10C-H5DH to be both dual head and new model number.

Use a 3-channel camera to provide a 180 deg view.

1/17/2024 Are VS-CM-2 and VS-CM-7 the same function?

No. The CM-2 is a (3-channel) 180 deg camera while the CM-7 is a dual head camera per the equipment list.

1/17/2024

VS-CM-2 calls out "Peanut Shaped".

Avigilon does not make a peanut shape. Axis does. Please confirm what is desired.
