Date: May 5, 2023 To: All Potential Bidders From: Noel Dietz, Purchasing Analyst Subject: Invitation to Bid 2022200045 Kitchen Improvements at Whiteaker Head Start Facility
ADDENDUM NO. 1
The solicitation referenced above is updated & amended as follows:
1. List of attendees present during mandatory pre-bid conference held on April 24, 2023. The sign-in sheet is attached to this Addendum.
Contact Person Business Name Email Noel Dietz City of Eugene, Purchasing ndietz@eugene-or.gov

Chris Vejnoska Richards Remodeling chris@richardsremodeling.com

Rico Ramos McKenzie Commercial rramos@mccmail.gbiz
2. Responses to questions received at the pre-bid conference are provided below.
Does the project include the cooler, ceiling fan, steam kettle, and grease traps? If not, which elements are included?
The City of Eugene has purchased the cooler, and it is in storage at the City of Eugene. The exhaust fan is included in the project. The steam kettle and grease interceptor are not. If the steam kettle or grease interceptor are damaged by the contractor, the contractor will be responsible for replacement.
Is relocation for the water heater part of the scope?
The contractor may choose to move the water heater during construction. If the water heater is moved during construction, it will need to be put back in the same spot.
Who will be responsible for transporting the cooler from it’s current location to the project site?
The City would like contractors to include relocation as an alternate bid. The cooler is currently being stored less than one mile from the Whiteaker School.
Is dry rot repair a budget item/additive alternate?
We have no way of knowing if there is dry rot and we do not know the components of the existing roof assembly. The only thing happening at the existing roof is replacement of the exhaust fan. Any dry rot repair will be addressed via change order.
What is the project timing?
The City anticipates that the project will begin as soon as possible.
Where are the access and staging?
The access point will be from Jackson Street. Staging location will be dependent on project start date.
mailto:ndietz@eugene-or.gov mailto:mickey@mcclainconstruct.com mailto:chris@richardsremodeling.com mailto:rramos@mccmail.gbiz
If the mechanicals units intended locations are on the existing adjacent roof, is there a structural design for it?
There are two units that will either sit on a concrete slab or racks on a wall. They do not go on the adjacent roof. Please see Revised Drawing A-2, attached, which includes information about the concrete slab and wood fence/gates infrastructure needed for the units.
3. The equipment report for the cooler included in Division 11 4000 of the specifications had a font error that rendered it illegible. The corrected version is attached to this Addendum.
4. Section VI. FORMS TO SUBMIT WITH BID, STANDARD BID FORM, pages 15-17, is removed and replaces with the STANDARD BID FORM - REVISED, attached to this Addendum.
All other specifications, terms and conditions remain unchanged.
