About this file

This is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy Statement document required for state contracts with Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC) in New York. The document establishes mandatory non-discrimination and affirmative action requirements that contractors and awardees must adopt and implement throughout the performance of state contracts. The policy obligates contractors to refrain from discriminating against employees or applicants based on race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military status, predisposing genetic characteristic, domestic violence victim status, prior criminal conviction, or prior arrest. Contractors must actively undertake affirmative action programs to ensure minority group members and women receive equal employment opportunities and must document their conscientious efforts to employ and utilize these populations in their workforce.

The policy requires contractors to include non-discrimination statements in all employment solicitations and advertisements and to request assurances from employment agencies, labor unions, and authorized representatives that they will not discriminate and will affirmatively cooperate in implementing these obligations. Contractors must comply with New York's Human Rights Law, all applicable state and federal statutory and constitutional non-discrimination provisions, and must flow down all policy requirements to subcontractors in a manner that makes the subdivisions binding on each subcontractor performing work on the state contract. The document requires execution by the contractor or awardee and must be completed with the specific date, printed name, and title of the authorized signatory.
