About this file
This is a Bid Bond document required by the City of Temple, Texas for the Poison Oak Road Realignment Phase II project. The bid bond serves as a guarantee that the bidding contractor will enter into the contract if selected and will provide required performance and payment bonds upon award. The project involves approximately 4,200 linear feet of new four-lane roadway construction along with bridge, drainage, water, pedestrian facilities, and lighting improvements. The selected contractor must complete all work within 550 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Bidders are required to complete and submit the bid bond either through the Bonfire platform or as a hard copy submission.
The engineer's estimate of probable cost for this project is $8,900,000. The bid bond amount must be filled in by the bidder and serves as liquidated damages if the principal withdraws the bid after opening or fails to execute the contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds upon award. Venue for any legal action arising from the bond is established in Bell County, Texas. Contractors must attach a Power of Attorney to the bid bond document. The bid bond is a standard requirement for this municipal public works project and ensures contractor accountability and financial responsibility throughout the bidding and contracting process.
