About this file

This is a Scope of Work document for the installation of 50 mm polyurethane foam (PUF) insulated panels for ceiling applications. The work encompasses supply (if applicable), installation, and finishing of sandwich panels with pre-coated galvanized iron sheets (0.5 mm thickness) complete per approved drawings and specifications.

The contractor is responsible for obtaining structural engineering design and documentation for the new metal framework supporting the PUF panel roof over a proposed laundry facility, including basis of design, STADD calculations, and working drawings submitted for approval before construction. The installation scope includes site preparation with inspection, cleaning, leveling, and layout marking; supply of 50 mm PUF panels, fasteners (self-drilling/self-tapping screws, EPDM washers), aluminum/GI channels, trims, sealants, and flashings; fabrication and installation of supporting MS/GI framework with anti-corrosive treatment; panel erection with proper tongue-and-groove interlocking, alignment, and plumb verification; joint sealing with approved silicone or polyurethane-based sealants for airtightness and waterproofing; cutting and reinforcing panels for openings (doors, windows, ducts, electrical); ceiling panel installation with suspension systems; quality control checks of panel thickness, surface finish, and joint integrity; and final cleaning with removal of protective film and debris disposal. Payment is measured in square meters of installed panel area, with rates inclusive of materials (if applicable), labor, fasteners, sealants, trims, and all incidental works. Panels must conform to IS/ASTM standards with specified fire rating and insulation properties. Exclusions include civil works (unless specified), electrical and HVAC installations, and structural steel beyond the defined framework.

Scope of Work – Installation of 50 mm PUF Panels 1 General Description

The work includes supply (if applicable), installation, and finishing of 50 mm thick PUF insulated panels for ceilings complete in all respects as per approved drawings and specifications.

Contractor will be responsible for getting the new framework for PUF panel roof over proposed laundry designed by a certified structural engineer. Structural engineer must provide following documentation for review and approval before releasing the final drawings good for construction.

• Basis of Design

• Stadd calculations

• Working drawings

The location has brick wall on all four sides to support proposed metal frame work.

2. Scope of Work

2.1 Site Preparation

• Inspection of site and verification of dimensions.

• Cleaning and leveling of installation surfaces.

• Marking layout lines as per approved drawings.

2.2 Supply of Materials

• 50 mm thick PUF panels (sandwich panels with pre-coated GI sheets – 0.5 mm).

• Fixing accessories:

o Self-drilling/self-tapping screws o Fasteners with EPDM washers o Aluminum/GI channels and trims o Sealants (silicone/PU-based)

• Flashings, corner trims, and closures.

2.3 Supporting Framework

• Fabrication and installation of supporting framework (if required):

o MS/GI sections (angles, channels, or tubular sections)

• Alignment, leveling, and anchoring to existing structure.

• Application of anti-corrosive primer and paint on MS members.

2.4 Panel Installation

• Erection of PUF panels vertically/horizontally as per design.

• Proper interlocking of tongue-and-groove joints.

• Fixing panels to framework using approved fasteners.

• Ensuring:

o Correct alignment and plumb o Uniform joints o No gaps or distortions

2.5 Joint Sealing and Finishing

• Sealing of panel joints with approved sealant to ensure:

o Airtightness o Waterproofing

• Installation of trims, flashings, and corner pieces.

• Finishing edges around doors, windows, and openings.

2.6 Openings & Cutouts

• Cutting panels for:

o Doors, windows, ducts, electrical openings

• Reinforcement of cut edges where required.

• Proper sealing around all penetrations.

2.7 Roof/Ceiling Panels (if applicable)

• Installation of ceiling panels with proper suspension system.

• Ensuring level alignment and load-bearing capacity.

• Sealing against air leakage.

2.8 Quality Control

• Checking:

o Panel thickness (50 mm) o Surface finish and coating o Alignment and joint integrity

• Replacement of damaged panels.

2.9 Cleaning & Handover

• Removal of protective film after installation.

• Cleaning of panel surfaces.

• Disposal of debris from site.

• Final inspection and handover.

3. Exclusions (if applicable)

• Civil works (unless specified)

• Electrical and HVAC installations

• Structural steel beyond defined framework

4. Safety Requirements

• Use of PPE (helmets, gloves, safety belts).

• Safe handling and lifting of panels.

• Compliance with site safety regulations.

5. Measurement & Payment

• Measurement in square meters (sqm) of installed panel area.

• Rate to include:

o Material (if applicable) o Labor o Fasteners, sealants, trims o All incidental works

6. Standards & Specifications

• Panels conform to relevant IS/ASTM standards.

• Fire rating and insulation properties as specified.
