About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a United States Attorney's Office (USAO) court reporting solicitation. The solicitation seeks court reporting services, with a strong preference for stenographic reporting methods. Key details include a minimum of 2 court reporters per location, permission for contractors to sell copies to parties involved in deposition proceedings, and potential work distribution through monthly rotation if multiple vendors are awarded. The solicitation will close on 09/22/2025, allowing for a timely award.
The Q&A addresses several technical and operational aspects, including IT device approval, file transfer protocols, and digital reporting considerations. While digital court reporting has been used by the Department of Justice (DOJ), this specific USAO prefers stenographic methods. The preferred file transfer system is USAFx, a government system accessible after award, with a 24-hour advance notification requirement for file transfers. Contractors may need to undergo physical IT equipment inspection, and detailed onboarding documentation will be provided after award.
