About this file
This document is a Question/Answers file addressing clarifications for a biomedical waste pickup and disposal contract at USP Atwater.
The facility requires monthly biomedical waste disposal services with an estimated 2 containers per monthly pickup, though pricing must include an additional container option. The estimated total quantity is approximately 20 containers per month for disposal. Containers are 55-gallon capacity. Pricing should be structured as a monthly rate for each month of the fiscal year (October through September), with separate pricing provided for additional containers beyond the standard service. Pharmaceutical waste pickup and disposal (Schedules 1-5) is not required, and hazardous chemical waste including chemotherapy trace waste, disinfectants, solvents, formaldehyde, and lab chemicals are explicitly excluded from the scope. The facility will provide and maintain its own sharps containers. Pickup operations will occur at the facility's Rear Gate with the contractor parking outside and approaching the Rear Gate Officer by foot to advise of the pickup; the waste will then be transported to the contractor's facility. Historical performance indicates a maximum of 1 hour spent at the facility per pickup, dependent on the amount of biomedical waste present. No entry parameters or facility access protocols are required beyond the Rear Gate procedures described.
