About this file
This document is a vendor discussion record from the Cherokee County School District concerning controls manufacturers for a building automation system (BAS) Request for Proposal (RFP). The RFP is an open solicitation encouraging vendors who can match the specifications in Attachment B to participate, with ALC currently serving as the existing controls manufacturer and service provider. Trane attempted to participate by requesting an alternate vendor status and a site visit during the week of August 11th, but was denied the ability to provide a separate system that would not integrate with the ALC platform.
The document reveals an ongoing procurement process where the school district appears committed to maintaining its current technological ecosystem with ALC as the standard vendor. The district's responses consistently emphasize that only vendors meeting the specific requirements outlined in Attachment B will be considered, indicating a structured and potentially restrictive procurement approach. No specific pricing details, funding sources, or contract terms are explicitly discussed in this vendor communication document.

Who is the existing controls manufacturer? Who is your service provider? Is Honeywell an approved vendor or is this an open bid?

ALC is the current manufacturer and service provider. This is an open RFP and any vendors who can match the specifications on Attachment B are encouraged to participate.

1. We understand ALC is the only approved vendor / standard for the school district. Would the district be open to accept Trane as an alternate vendor for BAS?
2. Trane would provide a separate system and not integrate to the ALC platform. Is this acceptable?
3. If yes to above, 1. We would like to conduct a site visit during the week of 11th of August.
Subsequently we request extension of bid submission to at least 3 weeks post site visit in order for us to prepare a competitive bid Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to your optimistic response.
