About this file

This document is the Automation Control Standards for the Cherokee County School District, establishing comprehensive technical specifications and requirements for building automation systems and controls. The standards cover detailed guidelines for graphics, alarms, trends, equipment configurations, and software programming across various mechanical and electrical systems including RTUs, FCUs, AHUs, chillers, boilers, lighting controls, and other critical infrastructure components. The document provides explicit instructions for sensor placement, monitoring points, control strategies, and system integration, with the goal of creating uniform automation practices across the school district's facilities.

The standards emphasize consistency and standardization, specifying that all equipment control programs should be identical across the county to enable global modifications if needed. Key technical requirements include using specific sensor types (like flush-mounted sensors in common areas), implementing standardized alarm and trend logging protocols, and ensuring comprehensive monitoring of equipment status, temperatures, and operational parameters. The document also provides detailed guidance on lighting controls, including interior, exterior, security, and emergency lighting, with specific programming instructions for each category. Additional notes cover retrofit job requirements, wiring specifications, and the placement of operational documentation, reflecting a comprehensive approach to maintaining and managing the district's building automation systems.
