About this file

This is Addendum 1 to an Invitation to Bid issued by the Oregon Department of Corrections Purchasing Section for the Powder River Correctional Facility roof replacement project (S-29100-00014105). The addendum provides three key revisions to the original bid specifications: clarification on metal roof panel lengths with an attached drawing detailing specific dimensions, approval of a substitution request for Taylor Metal Products' MS200 2" mechanical seam roof panels in place of the originally specified product, and scheduling of an optional bid walk on September 4th, 2025. The bid closing date and time has been revised from the original schedule to September 18th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. PST, representing a material change to the Invitation to Bid. Bidders are required to sign and return this addendum by the new bid closing date and time, with failure to do so potentially resulting in bid rejection.

The approved Taylor Metal Products substitution specifies MS200 mechanical seam panels available in 12", 14", 16", and 18" coverage widths with 2" vertical ribs, manufactured in Salem, Oregon. The product features a floating clip system allowing for panel expansion and contraction, factory-injected butyl sealant, concealed fastener design, and standard panel lengths from 1' to 60'. The panels meet comprehensive technical and safety standards including UL 580 Class 90 wind uplift rating, UL 790 Class A fire rating, UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, and FM Class 4471 certification. The manufacturer certifies equivalent or superior quality to the originally specified product with identical warranty, maintenance service, and replacement parts availability, with no adverse effects on other trades or project schedule impact.

WEIGHT TABLE

Panel Clips Clip Spacing Panel clip spacing is based on structural design loads, engineered spanning capability of the panels and substrate.

Clips are fabricated from Grade 50 G90 base steel. The upper portion of the clip is 22ga thick, with a base of 16ga.

Floating clips will accommodate 1/2” and 1-1/4” of movement in both directions. This will allow the panel to easily expand and contract with thermal changes. Contact TMP rep. for applications requiring allowances for more movement.

Fasteners All fasteners into steel and plywood must extend at least 3 full threads beyond the material. When attaching to dimensional lumber, 1” embedment is required.

ALLOWABLE UNIFORM LOADS, psf For various clip spacings (i.e. span values)

SECTION PROPERTIES

• Charted Load/Span values are based on ASTM E1592-02 / ASTM E1592-05 testing protocol

• Charted Allowable Uniform Loads are based on the Ultimate Uniform Load (per ASTM E1592-05 testing) divided by 2.00 Factor-of-Safety.

• Minimum recommended substrate (structure) recommendations:

o Open-framing (i.e.purlins) -16ga (design thickness=0.0566”) o Plywood/OSB - 15/32” or thicker is recommend to assure an effective degree of fastener thread engagement.

o Metal deck - 22 ga. (design thickness=0.0283”)

• Allowable loads for Steel panels are calculated in accordance with 2020 AISI S100 specifications considering bending, shear, combined bending and shear and deflection. Allowable load considers a 3 or more equal span condition.

• The Versa-Span Panel when installed as a three-span condition with spans of 5 ft. on-center for Steel and

3.0 ft.on-center for Aluminum are capable of withstanding the minimum uniform distributed load of 20 psf (0.958 kPa) noted in Table 1607.1 of the IBC and a minimum concentrated load of 300 lbf (1.33 kN).

• When panels are installed over solid or closely fitted deck sheathing, the capacity is limited to the capacity of the underlying sheathing.

Factory Mutual (FM Global) Project Requirements/Notes

• WTW GUIDELINES - FM projects may or may not require manufacturer’s weathertightness warranties.

Refer to project specifications for warranty requirements.

• ROOF SLOPE - Minimum slope for FM projects is 1/2” in 12”

• SEAM TYPES - MS-200, 180 degree seam required for FM projects

• REQUIRED UNDERLAYMENT - FM has no requirement for underlayment. If a manufacturer’s weathertightness warranty is specified, consult TMP rep. for required underlayments.

• ENGINEERING/CALCULATIONS - FM does not require engineering. Follow test method for fasteners and frequency of clip attachment.

• TRAINING - FM does not require training or shop drawings. TMP weathertightness warranties require approved applicators, attachment & drag load calculations, and shop drawings.

• INSPECTION SCHEDULES/FREQUENCY - FM does not require inspections. TMP requires weathertightness warranties inspections by the TMP Technical Representative.

• FM PROJECTS - PROPER FORM/INFORMATION/DOCUMENTATION - See attached. FM projects require documentation about the material used and panel formed.

• FM Approved Clips and fasteners required for FM specified projects.

• FM standing seam panels will be 16” or narrower in width.

Standoff / FM Floating Clip

** Lowest slope on project is 3/12
