Tab 4 is for the interior and exterior of the pipes and the preferred system is epoxy. The contractor is permitted to use solvent borne epoxies, high solids,100% solid epoxies, and on some items, they can do fusion bonded epoxies (FBE). If pipe segments are connected via welding, the contractor is required to have a 3-inch hold back on coatings, and field apply after completion of welding.
Tab 13 is used for repair only on the exterior of the pipes and fittings. We do not use polyurethane on immersion surfaces.

Drawing 1695-D-61943 - Please confirm if wall thickness of 42" steel pipe is to be 0.375", or rather, may be designed as per typical 'line pipe design criteria': Inside diameter measured to inside of lining shall not be less than nominal diameter flexible coated steel pip. 2) In no case shall steel pipe thickness be less than 0.135-inches. b. Steel Wall Thickness for Internal Pressure: 1) Hoop stress of pipe shell. Not to exceed: a) 50 percent yield strength as defined by grade of steel using the Barlow formula. With pressure defined by Hydraulic Grade Line and pipe centerline as shown on pipeline plan and profile drawings. b) 75 percent yield strength as defined by grade of steel using the Barlow formula. With pressure defined by the greater of pipe transient head class as shown on pipeline plan and profile drawings, or test pressure shown on drawing 1695-D-61942. 2) Barlow formula as defined by AWWA M11 Equation 4- 1.
Confirmed; Wall thickness of 42” steel pipe is to as indicated on drawings. Any other “line pipe design criteria” is not applicable.
Drawing 1695-D-61952 - Please confirm design pressure for ‘R-R’ type harness ring design(s) shall be in accordance with AWWA M11, that is, the test pressures listed on drawing 1695-D-61942. Design pressures currently shown roughly equate to test pressure(s) divided by a factor of 1.5. AWWA M11 utilizes greater of maximum positive transient or test pressure for design of ‘R-R’ harness rings, with an allowable stress equal to 75% of specified minimum yield strength of plate material. The plate dimensions currently shown are indeed adequate though, for the test pressures shown on drawing 1695-D-61942 in accordance with AWWA M11.
Confirmed; harness designed in accordance with AWWA M11. Refer to dimensions as shown on drawings.
Sheet 1695-D-61874- What interior wall type is between Room 3 and 4? What fire rating (if required)? This is on building line C, between 1 and 6/7.
This wall is 2" insulated metal panel one side on 6" mtl studs with 5/8" impact resistant GWB on other side - no rating required.
RFP document-Proposal Instructions-Pg 93-Other Contractor Engagement- Will the Bureau of Rec offer more information on locality of areas of conflict between this project and the 2 other projects(Reach 2/3 HDD and Reach 2/3 Open Cut? This will allow the GC to provide better contractor engagement narrative.
Potential conflict areas would be dirt access road to the Pumping Plant site (Indian Service Route 362). Also the connection points from the Pumping Plant manifold to the Reach 2-3 HDD and the Reach 2-3 open cut projects.
24 Sheet 1695-D-61884- Can a Room schedule be provided with finish callouts?
Room finish schedule will not be provided. The control room is the only space that has a surface (GWB) other than manufacturer finish at wall referenced in question 22 (above) to be coated per spec section 09 96 20.
25 From metal building sub - What kind of loading do we need to do for the Fall Arrest System?
See reference standard listed in specification - 29 CFR 1926
26 From metal building sub - What deflections are needed for the roof and walls?
Reclamation has provided minimum gauges and deflections for roof and wall panels. Contractor to determine deflections of structural members based in accordance with Section 13 34 21.
27 From metal building sub - Is the loading for the Cable Tray already included in the collateral or is that additional?
The government only defines environmental loads, It’s the contractor’s responsibility to determine the design value for all collateral loads, to include cable trays.
28 From metal building sub - What is the weight for each roof hatch? This will need to be provided by mfr.
From metal building sub - Are you set on the removable roofs for both single slopes? In our experience this is a very expensive addition, and in the past it was for fail safes in case the pumps stop working and need to be removed, but was always a “just in case” scenario. Our recommendation would be to add a large garage door instead, as it would be much more financially friendly and easier for install.
Please see revised drawing 1695-D- 61875. The removable sections are for the air chambers only, and not the entire roof. The extents depicted are still approximate and will vary based on the final air chambers furnished.
30 From metal building sub - Do the frames and secondaries need to be hot dipped galvanized?
The metal building will need to meet tabluation 3, which is a coating and not hot dipped galvanized.
31 Will BOR provide temporary construction easements to utilize for material storage and commissioning?
The contractor can utilize any space allowed in the construction right of way as depicted on the drawings.
33 12 71/2.01.C.4.a.2.b: General note 16 on sheet 1695-D-61942 specifies a hydrostatic test pressure of 525 psig between pump discharge and downstream ball valve. There is no AWWA C207 flange class rated for such a test pressure magnitude. Please clarify flange specification & class for connection to pump discharge head.
See drawing 1695-D-61947 for flange detail. Flanges downstream of pump and upstream of ball valve are drawn as ANSI Class 300.
33 14 19/1.01.A.1: please clarify/ confirm that fire hydrant and steel pipe/ fittings are covered under CLIN 73; the price schedule contains no item line for hydrant & associated pipe conforming to Section 33 14 19.
The fire hydraunts are now part of Clin 73, see Revised Spec Section 33 14 19
33 14 19/2.01.A: Section 33 05 19 is not part of the contract documents. Please clarify which section shall govern supply of pipe and fittings.
Section 2.01 A of 33 14 19 now references 35 21 95 - Steel Manifold Piping
Sheets 1695-D-61860, 1695-D-61926: reference is made to sheet 1695-D-61951 for depiction of fire hydrant and associated pipe/ fittings. Section C/61951 only depicts the basic pipe work and does not show the connection detail(s) to proposed fire hydrant. Can a connection detail to proposed fire hydrant be provided in conjunction with Section C/61951?
Fire hydrant details are per the local Authority Having Juristiction (AHJ). These details have been left out of this drawing package and drawing Section C/61951 notes, "Coordinate with local municipality on valving, piping, and hydrant requirements"
