About this file
This document is a set of drawings for the construction of a 60 cfs pumping station at the Topock Marsh Fire Break Canal for the Bureau of Reclamation's Colorado River Front Work and Levee System project in the Mohave Valley Division.
The key details include:
- Construction of a new pumping station, access road, detention basin, electrical transformer pad, and associated earthwork and site grading
- Installation of a reinforced concrete pressure pipeline (RCPP) from the pumping station to the Colorado River
- Demolition of existing infrastructure including riprap, a 60-inch RCP, and a sheet pile wall
- Technical specifications for pipeline materials, trench excavation, backfill, compaction, and other construction requirements
- Drawings providing plan views, profiles, and cross-sections for the site layout, grading, and pipeline installation
- Coordinates and survey data for the project location
This information appears to support the requirements outlined in the related federal contract opportunity for the Archimedes pump construction at Topock, which has an estimated project value between $10-15 million.

NOTES
1. For existing conditions, see For Information Only drawings FB3-FB12.
2. Slope or shore excavations as required for safety in accordance with Specifications.
3. See Specifications for earthwork, foundation preparation, and compaction requirements.
4. See Specifications for Levee/Road surfacing requirements.
5. See Specifications for geotextile requirements.
6. See Installation with Soil Pads detail (40-D-6552) for typical RCPP section.
7. See Reinforced Concrete Pressure Pipe - Joint Details (40-D-7112) and Precast
Concrete Pipe Joints (40-D-6477).
8. See Specifications for area-velocity flowmeter sensor and flow display transmitter locations and requirements.
9. See Specifications for Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM).
10. Pipe wall thickness ("t") to be determined by Contractor, adjust elevations and dimensions of excavation according to wall thickness supplied.
11. Install (3) 5"Ø electrical conduits in accordance with Specifications. Maintain 3.0' cover depth, field route per (60172) maintaining 5'-0" min. clearance from outside of RCPP. Place conduits horizontal with 6" separation between adjacent conduits.
12. Maintain 1'-0" cover over RCPP between Sta. 4+35.77 and Sta. 8+60.00. Slope to match existing grade at levees with slope no greater than 5:1.
13. Place embedment backfill material in this section in full-width horizontal lifts and compact per Specifications. Locally excavate for pipe and CLSM placement to dimensions shown, trimming and compacting the surface to match Specification requirements. Scarify the contact plane between embedment backfill, CLSM, and backfill above CLSM to a depth of 0.1' maximum to prevent voids.
