The purpose of this Amendment 002 is to answer vendor questions and upload the site visit sign-in sheet (see Section J - Att No. 6).
Question 1. What is the location of the laydown area and equipment access?
Answer Question 1. The southern end of the parking lot close to stairwell 28.
Question 2. How long it would take to complete the work and how long they can take to complete job?
Answer Question 2. It depends how many people you have pushing sand and the size of the equipment they're using. The period of performance on the purchase order will allow up to 90 days. However, it's in the Contractor's best interest to get it done as soon as possible because high winds will move the sand back to where they just pushed it and you may have to redo it if sand builds back up before you are finished.
Question 3. Where can we park the equipment?
Answer Question 3. In the staging area in the parking lot. You can't leave it out on the beach because it will get vandalized and somebody might be living in it in the morning.
Question 4. What is the expected grade level?
Answer Question 4. Just below the bottom curvature of the seawall. The PWS says the first step.
Question 5. Can we leave some of the humps and how flat it needs to be?
Answer Question 5. It needs to be flat out to the specified distance, but leaving existing low spots is acceptable, but beyond those low spots, you will need to continue the level grade based on the starting point at the seawall.
Question 6. Will any permits other than parking permits be required from city, county, or municipal entities?
Answer Question 6. You will need to acquire a permit from the city for your laydown area to

Question 7. Need utility locate and verification near the Promenade infrastructure?
Answer Question 7. Yes. It is the responsibility of the contractor to get all utilities located.
Question 8. Is there any dig permit requirement or cultural/environmental monitoring requirements?
Answer Question 8. No
Question 9. Is there an expected percentage of fall from the seawall to the water?
Answer Question 9. Flat grade from area indicated in PWS.
Question 10. Does the NPS have an estimated quantity of sand calculated?
Answer Question 10. No
Question 11. How smooth does the finish work need to be? What is the max height of any berms left or created from the equipment, and will dozer tracks in the sand need to be smoothed as well?
Answer Question 11. The finished area should maintain a flat appearance, except where previous sand removal has left existing low spots on the beach. Outside these depressions, the grade should remain level, extending from the base of the seawall. Minor windrows and equipment tracks are permissible, as they are typically erased by strong winds. Additionally, a berm may be constructed at the end of the
300- or 400-foot sand relocation site. Berm shall be made as not to pose a hazard to the public.
Question 12. Laydown yard location? Is it big truck accessible, and are we able to track dozers off trailer and to the beach?
Answer Question 12. The contractors typically set up their laydown area near the beach access in the southern section of the city parking lot, most likely between stairwells 24 and 26.

For tracked equipment, the designated beach access point is just south of stairwell 28. In the early morning hours, a truck and trailer should be able to deliver equipment to this area without any issues, ensuring a smooth and efficient drop-off process.
Question 13. If high swells or tides come in, is there high ground to park the equipment?
Answer Question 13. Yes, the laydown area is safely located outside the tide line, ensuring that equipment can be parked there without risk from high swells or tides.
Question 14. How far away is laydown from the worksite?
Answer Question 14. About 2000'
