1. What is the expected completion date of the Reds Meadow Road Project?

(Answer) Completion of FHWA contract for Reds Meadow Road work was originally proposed for the fall of 2024 but due to the short field season in 2023, project completion is currently estimated for the fall of 2025. The construction schedule and associated road closures have not been finalized for 2025.

2. For Tree removal, what is to be done with the stumps?

(Answer)Tree removal shall include grinding the stumps.

3. Is the Geotech report dated 06/09/09 available to the contractor and has it been made available to Romtec?

(Answer) The report will be included in the solicitation amendment attachments.

4. Is the existing all-gender structure constructed of wood framing or CMU block?

(Answer)The unisex (all-gender) bathroom is 100% concrete.

5. Is cove base tile intended to be installed on interior walls?

(Answer)At interior walls, provide a grout cove base. No tile base.

6. Is a hazardous materials report available for the existing comfort station?

(Answer)No.

7. Are 4’x8’ or 4’x10’ fiber-cement sheets an approved substitution for 12”x12’ planks?

(Answer)Yes.

8. Should there be illuminated exit signs?

(Answer)No illuminated exit signs.

9. Are motion-controlled fixtures to be wall-mounted occupancy sensor or integrated with the fixture?

(Answer)For motion-controlled fixtures, provide wall-mounted occupancy sensors.

10. This building calls for a 100 amp meter and new service from existing pull box. Is there a grounding detail for this work and meter enclosure spec available?

(Answer)No. The capacity is 100 amp. There are asbuilts included as amendment attachments for the electric upgrade at DEPO. No further pre-solicitation specifications for this.

11. Is the project site in jurisdiction of So Cal Edison or PG&E?

(Answer)SoCal Edison.

12. Please confirm that a water heater and hot water piping are not a requirement of this project.

(Answer) Confirmed. No water heater and no hot water piping.

13. Will water piping require insulation?

(Answer) No water piping insulation required.
