About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation #140P8425Q0047 for Lassen Volcanic National Park's generator replacement project. The Q&A provides critical technical specifications for the generator, including voltage requirements of 120/240V, a transfer switch amperage of 200A, and confirmation that a 30,000-watt generator producing 125 amps at 240 volts will meet the park's needs. The current generator is capable of 3-phase operation but is currently used as a 1-phase generator, so either a single-phase or 3-phase generator will be acceptable, with all equipment motors currently wired for 1-phase electrical configuration.

Questions and Answers Solicitation #140P8425Q0047 Lassen Volcanic National Park Supply and Deliver Generator

Question: What is the voltage needed for the generator – 120/280v or 120/240v?

Answer: 120/240V

Question: What is the amperage for the transfer switch (100 amps, 200 amps, etc.)?

Answer: 200A

Question: Could you please let me know what the voltage is o the 3-phase generator to be supplied for the Lassen park standby generator project?

Answer: Voltage in question #1. Even though the current generator is capable of 3-phase, it is currently only being used as a 1 phase generator. All of our equipment with motors is wired as 1 phase, so either a single-phase generator or a 3 phase generator should work

(since 3 phase generators also provide functionality to one phase electrical devices).

Question: Could you please advise on the voltage, as it was not specified in the SOW or specifications?

Answer: 120/240V

Question: We would like to confirm whether the generator is required to be 200 amps?

Answer: A 30,000-watt generator which produces 125 amps at 240 volts is more than sufficient for our needs.
