About this file

This is a Questions and Answers attachment to RFQ 140P8326Q0032 for fire extinguisher inspection, service, and replacement at Olympic National Park (OLYM).

The document clarifies two key issues regarding vendor quote submission. First, vendors must include all work identified in the Statement of Work within their quotes, encompassing annual inspections, minor parts replacement (tamper seals, pins, O-rings), and extinguisher replacement as required. The document notes that replacement quantities provided in the solicitation represent estimated needs based on available information, and actual quantities may vary based on field inspection results. No additional repair work beyond the SOW scope is anticipated, though any unforeseen conditions will be addressed through Government coordination. Second, the Government declined to consider technical alternatives involving NFPA 10-compliant self-service fire extinguishers. The current solicitation is based on the existing inventory and service model for portable fire extinguishers, including annual inspection and replacement in accordance with NFPA 10. Vendors are directed to base their quotes strictly on the requirements as written in the SOW. The Government indicated it may consider alternative products or approaches for future requirements but stated they are outside the scope of this procurement. Where discrepancies exist between this Q&A document and the original RFQ, quoters must make pen and ink corrections using the information provided in this addendum.

RFQ 140P8326Q0032 Olympic National Park (OLYM) Attachment 6: Questions & Answers Fire Extinguisher Inspection, Service, and Replacement

The following are questions/answers that were brought up that supplement the Request for Quotes, and in some cases may provide some different information than what is stated in the Request for Quotes. Where there are differences, quoters shall make pen and ink changes in those sections of the Request for Quotes, with the information provided in this Question and Answer round.

1. Do we include all repairs in our quote?

Vendors should include in their quote all work identified in the SOW, including annual inspections, minor parts replacement (e.g., tamper seals, pins, O-rings), and replacement of extinguishers as required. Replacement quantities provided in the solicitation represent estimated needs based on available information. Actual replacement quantities may vary based on field inspection results. No additional repair work beyond what is described in the SOW is anticipated. Any unforeseen conditions would be addressed in coordination with the Government.

2. Would the NPS entertain a technical alternative that utilizes NFPA 10-compliant self-service fire extinguishers?

The current solicitation is based on the existing inventory and service model for portable fire extinguishers, including annual inspection and replacement in accordance with NFPA 10. At this time, the Government is not considering alternative equipment or service models under this solicitation. Vendors should base their quotes on the requirements as written in the SOW. The Government appreciates the information provided and may consider alternative products or approaches for future requirements, but they are outside the scope of this procurement.
