The Proposal Preparation Instructions on page 21of the solicitation ask for five (5) volumes but pages 22-26 give instructions for only two (2) volumes. | The volumes are really up tot he contractor. 2- or 5 its will be accepted. | ||
6/4/25 | 6/5/25 | RJS | What is the year limit for past projects? Page 23 says seven years at one point and 5 years at another. | It is 3 in the last 5 years. | |
6/4/25 | 6/5/25 | RJS | What is the page limit for the Technical approach? Page 21 says there’s a 15 page limit but page 23 says there’s a 10 page limit. | 10-15 will be acceptable. | |
6/4/25 | 6/5/25 | RJS | Verify that the “General References” section in the Business & Price Proposal should only include the “Project Experience” form in attachment 7. | Yes, Relevant PP | |
6/4/25 | 6/5/25 | RJS | Verify Past Performance Forms are required in both the Technical and Business and Price Proposal. | No, just 3 in the last 5 years. | NOT CLEAR!!! |
6/4/25 | 6/5/25 | RJS | All Amendment SF’s are dated 4/24/25. Please date the next Amendment with the current date for tracking purposes. Box 3 (in relation to Box 2 Amendment #) | Not sure why they are showing 4/28, where are you seeing this? I will look into it and see why this date posts. | |
6/4/25 | Jamestown Excavating | Will the NPS require guard posts to be installed for the blow offs? (C23, 6.1) | Guard posts or bollards are not required to be installed for the blow offs because blow off assemblies shall be installed below grade and protected by a concrete meter box with traffic-rated metal cover, Fog-Tite Type 1D or equal, per detail 6.1 on sheet C23. Blow off assemblies shall include a valve marker post located nearby for identification. | ||
6/4/25 | Jamestown Excavating | The key notes and the plans are conflicting on several pages (C15, C18, and C19). Assuming the plans are correct and the key notes are not. | Key notes and plans on drawing sheets C15, C18, and C19 do not appear to conflict. Please identify specific key notes that conflict with the drawings if there are questions or concerns. | ||
6/4/25 | Jamestown Excavating | On sheets C03 & C04, it states that there must be 100 LF of trenching stockpiles for artifact sifting. There is nothing marked on the plans as to where, is this up to the contractor as long as it’s outside of the road prism, or is there an archeologically sensitive area? | There is an archaeologically sensitive area that spans sheets C03 and C04, and a total of approximately 100 LF of trenching will need to have excavated material set aside for sifting by the NPS archaeologist prior to being used as backfill or hauled offsite for disposal. As noted in Construction Notes 1. on drawing sheets C03 and C04, it is anticipated that the stockpile shall be adjacent to the trench, likely on the north side of the trench (where sufficient shoulder exists) to keep the roadway accessible. If the shoulder is too narrow to accommodate stockpiling of material in addition to the trench and equipment, material may be stockpiled at the nearest pullout, located at station 2700 on sheet C12, or it may be temporarily stockpiled on the roadway if temporary road closures are coordinated with the Contracting Officer and the archaeologist is able to process material so that it can be placed as backfill or hauled offsite prior to reopening the road. | ||
6/4/25 | Jamestown Excavating | Is there any concern about the vegetation west of the parking lot where the water line is to be installed? | Yes, native vegetation within subalpine meadow utility corridor shall be salvaged, set aside, and re-established (watered to saturation) following utility replacement, as described in the specifications. See specification section 01 11 00 Summary of Work, paragraphs 1.3 F. 10. & 1.3 F. 11. for specific details and requirements on how to preserve and maintain vegetation. | ||
6/9/25 | 6/12/25 | Bruch & Bruch Construction | Sheets C17-C19 station 217+00 to 222+40- does the ground have to be covered with sheets or can you work off existing surface after it is stripped. | ||
| ONP realizes this will be a like 15’ wide that is a got a saved vegetation. | Working off existing surface is acceptable. | ||||||
6/9/25 | 6/12/25 | Bruch & Bruch Construction | Sheet C22- Detail #1- Typical Trench Non pavement area- Note #4 says CO can approve native as backfill. The section from 217 to 222+40 can that be noted to intend to use native prior to bid? | Yes, native can be assumed for backfill use within the meadow. Imported pipe bedding material requirements under and over pipe remain. | |
6/9/25 | 6/12/25 | Bruch & Bruch Construction | Before Labor day- what is the exact area of laydown for construction? And after? This was the area they allowed before just had to have traffic control thru the area. You will need an area big enough for truck & trailers to dump and reload- lots of material going up there and being hauled away | The location indicated for staging is the area west of the former Lodge to the entrance to Hurricane Hill Rd., shown on CO1 & C15. This area has been used in past projects for truck and trailer turnaround and material/equipment staging. The staging location will remain the same before and after Labor Day. Please also refer to General Notes #5 & #10. | |
6/9/25 | 6/12/25 | Bruch & Bruch Construction | The road to Hurricane Hill- west end of parking lot- can the road be closed during trenching? If to remain open how long can you hold traffic? The road is only 15-16 wide, which will be taken up with equipment- not much room for public traffic. | Yes, full closure of the Hurricane Hill Rd. will be allowed Mondays-Thursdays for work activities along the road. The road shall be left ready for opening to public traffic at the end of Thursday shift, so the road can remain open Fridays-Sundays. General Note #3, on G01 applies prior to scheduling. | |
