About this file

This document contains answers to questions regarding solicitation number 140P8121R0015 to replace air chillers and generators at Lake Mead National Park in Nevada. The contract period of performance will be extended to allow for delayed equipment lead times, with two notices to proceed issued - one for equipment acquisition and one for construction once equipment is received. A distribution panel may be located outside the communications building next to the automatic transfer switch to accommodate four breakers that cannot be supplied and installed directly in the 150kW generator per the generator manufacturers. The 20kW generator is 120/208 volt, three phase as specified on the nameplate information.

140P8121P0015 Answers to Solicitation Questions #1

1) The solicitation states the duration for this project will be 120 calendar days. After speaking with the specified generator companies they are reporting that lead time is currently 6 months from approval of submittal and placement of the order. Please advise.

Period of performance will be extended to allow for delayed lead times. Two NTPs will be issued:

one to acquire equipment and one to begin construction once equipment as been received by contractor.

2) On the One-Line Diagram on drawing sheet E8 it shows (4) breakers supplied and installed in the existing 150kw generator, but after speaking with the specified generator companies they are stating that they can not provide a UL listing on the generators to have these (4) breakers, and that we would need a generator distribution panel to allow for the (4) breakers needed. Please advise where this panel should be located and installed.

Should a distribution panel need to be installed, it may be located on the exterior of the communications building next to ATS-2.

3) For the 20kw generator please clarify the voltage and if it’s a 3 phase generator at 120/208 as there isn’t much information on the drawings and it doesn’t show up on the One-Line Diagram.

See below for nameplate information of 20 kW generator.
