About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation 140P5126Q0016 regarding the replacement of HVAC systems at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park.
The solicitation requires the installation of Mitsubishi mini-split HVAC systems with specific capacities and performance requirements. The required equipment consists of seven 9,000 BTU units, five 12,000 BTU units, and six 18,000 BTU units, all with a SEER rating of 16. The work is primarily a like-in-kind replacement, with contractors instructed to reuse existing raceways (line set covers) unless they are cracked or unusable; existing raceways are 4 inches in width. The government does not have site plans, original designs, or as-built drawings available from previous administrations, so contractors should plan accordingly during site assessment. Contractors are permitted to core new holes in walls if existing openings are deemed unsuitable for the new installation. Specific make and model numbers for the condensing and evaporator units are referenced in Section 3 of the revised Statement of Work. The document clarifies that no new line sets are required unless existing lines are compromised, and contractors should refer to the revised SOW for complete specifications and equipment details.
