Addendum to Statement of Work – Roof Replacement at Dingmans School and Jackson House

This addendum modifies the roofing material specifications for a roof replacement project at two historic structures—Dingmans School (North Zone) and Jackson House (South Zone)—located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The original Statement of Work specified fibrous cement roof tile for Dingmans School and natural or in-kind slate roofing for Jackson House. The addendum permits the Contractor to substitute EcoStar synthetic slate roofing at both structures as an alternative, provided the synthetic slate is selected to closely match the existing roofing at each building in color, profile, texture, and overall appearance.

The Contractor must submit proposed EcoStar product data, color selections, profiles, texture samples, and warranty information to the Contracting Officer for review and approval, with technical coordination through the Contracting Officer's Representative. The approved product must be installed per manufacturer's written instructions and remain compatible with the specified roof pitch, underlayment, flashing, fasteners, roof penetrations, and historic building conditions. Any changes to the roof assembly, fastening pattern, decking, ventilation, flashing, or associated components necessitated by the synthetic slate system require prior written approval from the Contracting Officer. All other requirements from the original Statement of Work remain unchanged and in full effect, including removal and disposal, asbestos testing, roof decking repairs, underlayment, copper flashing, gutters, snow rakes, roof boots, painting, safety measures, and compliance with Department of the Interior and National Park Service historic preservation requirements.

Roofing Material Addendum | Dingmans School and Jackson House

ADDENDUM TO STATEMENT OF WORK

Roof Replacement at Dingmans School and Jackson House Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area

Statement of Work - Roof Replacement, Dingmans School and Jackson House

Purpose This addendum revises the roofing material requirements in the original Statement of Work for both Dingmans School (North Zone) and Jackson House (South Zone).

Roofing Material Change In lieu of the fibrous cement roof tile specified for Dingmans School and the natural or in-kind slate roofing specified for Jackson House, the Contractor is permitted to furnish and install EcoStar synthetic slate roofing at both structures. The synthetic slate shall be selected in a color, profile, texture, and overall appearance that closely match the existing roofing at each respective building.

Submittal and Approval Requirements

• Before procurement or installation, submit the proposed EcoStar product data, color selection, profile, texture, warranty information, and physical samples to the Contracting Officer for review and approval, with technical coordination through the Contracting Officer's Representative as authorized.

• The approved product shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's written instructions and shall be compatible with the specified roof pitch, underlayment, flashing, fasteners, roof penetrations, and historic building conditions.

• Any changes needed to the roof assembly, fastening pattern, decking, ventilation, flashing, or other associated components because of the synthetic slate system shall be identified in the submittal and shall not be performed without prior written approval from the Contracting Officer.

Unchanged Requirements This addendum changes only the specified roofing material. All other requirements of the original Statement of Work remain unchanged and in full effect, including removal and disposal, asbestos testing, roof decking and carpentry repairs, underlayment, copper flashing and related copper components, gutters, snow rakes, roof boots, painting, safety measures, field verification, workmanship, and compliance with applicable Department of the Interior and National Park Service historic preservation requirements.

Order of Precedence If a conflict exists between this addendum and the original Statement of Work concerning the roofing material, this addendum governs. Except as specifically modified above, the original Statement of Work remains unchanged.
