About this file
This document is an Amendment (0006) to a federal solicitation for the DEWA 251562 Old Mine Road North Construction project issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service. The amendment addresses several contractor questions and clarifies key project details, including stone sourcing, asphalt repair, construction fencing, and site-specific work conditions. Key points include:
The amendment provides specific guidance that stone for the project shall be indigenous masonry stone obtained on-site or locally, with off-site stone procured through a vendor and requiring park approval. The document confirms there are no predetermined stone vendors, and contractors must submit stone samples. Additional clarifications cover partial depth asphalt repair procedures, construction fencing alternatives (12" silt sock), and ditch construction variations. The amendment also explicitly states that the government will not provide compensation for stop work orders related to historical significance zones or wildlife monitoring, and that sales tax on materials is the contractor's responsibility. The last day for questions is Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11am MT, with responses due by email on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11am MT.

140P2025R0033/0006 shall be indigenous masonry stone and shall be obtained on-site or locally. Reuse stone found on-site and supplement stone from offsite location. Answer 7: There is no compensation if the government issues a stop work notice. Any work completed and approved prior the stop work will be subject to review and acceptance. Question 8: How is the contractor to be compensated should a stop work be issued by the wildlife monitors?
Answer 8: There is no compensation if the government issues a stop work notice. Any work completed and approved prior the stop work will be subject to review and acceptance. During a stop work notice, the contractor does not receive compensation. The CO will likely direct the contractor to work at a different location to avert the need for stopping work.
Question 9: Please confirm the sales tax on materials will be required for the project and is the responsibility of the contractor.
Answer: Confirmed.
