Specification 04-01-20 Para 1.5D states- “every mason shall construct a mock-up for each activity that they will perform. Only masons who have demonstrated proficiency in a task per the approval of the Architect shall be permitted to perform that particular task” Does that mean that each and every mason must prepare a mock up for each of the multiple masonry tasks and receive approval from the Architect prior to beginning the work?
What will be the Architect’s review period to review and approve the individual task mock-up for each and every mason. In theory this could exceed 20 mock-ups that would need Architect approval assuming only 5-6 masons being on the project. Please confirm that each mason must prepare an individual mockup for each of the masonry tasks to be performed while restoring the masonry.
The mock-up process in 04 01 20 Masonry Cleaning will be approved through the submittal process. Submittal List in Specifications Section 04 09 20, Pages 55 -56. Given the new proposal due date of 2/17/2023, we request an additional extension to the RFI deadline to at least 2/3/2023 to allow time to generate questions.
The question deadline has already been adjusted to 1/26/2023. This will allow for thorough answers to the questions. Questions can still be submitted after the deadline, however, those answers may not be posted.
Please provide a comprehensive list of historic items that are to remain inside of the building.
Amendment Non 02 to the Solicitation provided the following list of exhibits documents: 013591_L1_NH GWC List of Objects, and 013591_L2_CR GWC List of Objects.
Can said solicitation be divided into two separate solicitations/contracts/awards: One contract specifically for the removal, transportation and storage of the artifacts contained in the Carver Museum and another contract for the actual restoration and rehabilitation of the Carver Museum Building?
To separate this into two requirements would require coordination efforts between two contractors and increases the risk to the Park Service. To mitigate this risk, the requirement is solicited as one contract thereby allowing the Prime contractor to control the entire project.
Confirm that Specifications Pg. 01 35 91 (appended) - 4, from Section "EVALUATION QUALIFICATIONS - The successful bidder must have the following"(all 5 bullet points) is deleted. Confirm that Specifications Pg. 01 35 91 (appended) - 4, from Section "EVALUATION QUALIFICATIONS - The successful bidder will" (bullet points 3 and 4) are deleted.
