NOTES:
1. THE 600 AMP COMPONENTS ARE DESIGNED TO BE SEPARATED
AND ENGAGED ON DE-ENERGIZED CIRCUITS ONLY.
2. BOND THE CABLE CONCENTRIC NEUTRALS TOGETHER. LEAVE
ENOUGH EXCESS CONCENTRIC TO FACILITATE DISASSEMBLING
THE COMPONENTS WITHOUT DISCONNECTING THE NEUTRAL.
3. THE ASSEMBLY WRENCHES ARE RE-USABLE TOOLS. IT IS NOT
NECESSARY TO CHECK OUT NEW TOOLS FOR EACH JOB.
4. WHEN ADDITIONAL SILICONE GREASE IS NEEDED TO INSTALL
RUBBER MOLDED PRODUCTS, SPLICES, ELBOWS, ETC., ON
PRIMARY CABLE, USE APN 72401525. NOTE: SILICONE GREASE IN
A 5.3 OZ TUBE APN 72401525 SHALL NOT BE USED FOR
INSTALLING RUBBER MOLDED PRODUCTS ON HIGH VOLTAGE
CABLE.
5. FOR CABLE PREPARATION, SEE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS
PACKAGED WITH DEVICES.
6. REPLACEABLE APPARATUS STUDS FOR 600 AMP DEAD-FRONT
APPLICATIONS ARE APN 85411378.
7. BAIL ASSEMBLY REQUIRED FOR NON-LOADBREAK ELBOW.
8. SEALING KITS ARE PACKAGED WITH THE 1/0AL, 200AMP LOADBREAK
ELBOWS AND 750AL, 600AMP BASIC T-ELBOWS. INDIVIDUAL SEALING
KITS ARE AVAILABLE IF NEEDED:
1/0AL - APN 33101380
750AL - APN 33101381
ANOTHER OPTION IS TO SEAL THE CABLE AT THE JACKET CUT-BACK
EDGE WITH ELECTRICAL PUTTY APN 33101230 AND BLACK
ELECTRICAL TAPE APN 71604710.
STEP 1. PLACE ONE WRAP OF ELECTRICAL PUTTY UNDER THE
CONCENTRIC NEUTRALS AT THE FOLD-BACK EDGE OF THE
JACKET CUT-BACK.
STEP 2. FIRMLY EMBED THE CONCENTRIC NEUTRALS IN THE ELECTRICAL
PUTTY.
STEP 3. APPLY ADDITIONAL WRAP OF ELECTRICAL PUTTY OVER THE
CONCENTRIC NEUTRALS AT THE FOLD-BACK EDGE OF THE
JACKET CUT-BACK, OVER-LAPPING A MINIMUM OF 1/2 INCH
OVER THE JACKET AND INSULATION SHIELD AT THE CUT-BACK
EDGE OF THE JACKET.
STEP 4. COVER THE EXPOSED ELECTRICAL PUTTY WITH SEVERAL
WRAPS OF BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE.

2. WHEN USING ELBOW FOR FAULT LOCATING, INSPECT ELBOW PROBE
AFTER EACH OPERATION. IF SEVERE PITTING OR EROSION IS PRESENT
ON PROBE, REPLACE BUSHING INSERT AND ELBOW.
