Q1: What is the anticipated date for installation?

A1: The pump that is to be installed is expected to be delivered to the park in late November 2020. It is therefore anticipated that installation will take place in December 2020 or January 2021.

Please note that the removal and installation is at night. Lights will be required.

Q2: Will the park provide accommodations in the event of inclement weather?

A2: No. If inclement weather appears to be an issue, we will work with the contractor to develop alternate plans and dates.

Q3: What is required to access this meter vault? Will the Park staff remove cover?

A3: The park will remove the cover and open the gate for access. Park personnel will be supervising the project.

Q4: What will the approximate flow be during the fire hydrant blow off period?

A4: It is unknown but maximum flow is 8,000 gpm. The park is blowing off fire hydrants to reduce the pressure and flow as much as possible. Plan for multiple pumps to handle the maximum or a reduced flow rate.

Q5: Will the new valve be handled, moved to site by the staff?

A5: Yes, the meter and all government furnished equipment will be moved to the meter vault vicinity prior to contractors arriving onsite.

Q6: Has the floor drain in the vault been verified as patent to dispose of accumulating water A6: The vault will not drain accumulating water and a pump or multiple pumps will be necessary to remove water from the vault continually during the removal and installation of the water meter.

Q7: What size pump is anticipated for removing water during replacement?

A7: See question 4 above for flow rates. It is recommended that multiple pumps be available since the exact flow rate is unknown. The park will try to minimize the flow rate as much as possible.

Q8: Is there 120v electric within 25¿ of the vault for lighting? If not, will a generator be allowed?

A8: Generator will be allowed along with light banks. Do not plan on electrical outlets to be available.

Q9: What are the warranty expectations as the material will be customer supplied?

A9: 1 year installation warranty with no leaks.

Q10: Where is the spec for the contractor supplied totalizer?

A10: The following totalizers are allowed or park approved equal:

-Krohne GSM / GPRS data logger KGA 42 -EasyLog EL-USB-4

Q11: Do we need to provide a new Romac coupling for the installation, as well, or will that be GFE?

A11: Yes, please provide a 16 inch new Romac coupling, it will not be government furnished. Provide all other equipment and parts anticipated for the job that are not listed under the government furnished materials.
