About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the Department of the Interior National Park Service Intermountain Region's project to replace security system cameras. The RFI provides detailed technical specifications about the facility infrastructure, including adobe walls, power stability, and cable installation requirements. Key CCTV system details include the need for cameras in interior and exterior areas, potential pole-mounted cameras, and integration into the government's secure network.
The document outlines specific technical considerations such as conduit installation (estimated 200 linear feet), camera placement, and network integration. IT security aspects reveal that server hardening, FISMA compliance, and cyber risk management will be handled by DOI IT staff, not the contractor. The system will be installed in a secure government network, with no requirement for the contractor to provide an IT Security Plan or address comprehensive cyber risks.

• Is there a dropped ceiling in all areas of installation? No, exposed wires are permissible provided they are tucked up into cracks and corners. Some areas do have an over framing on top of the wood ceilings.
• What type of walls are in the perimeter areas? Adobe
• What type of walls is inside the offices? Primarily adobe with some lath and plaster over wood framing.
• Do we need to drill between the walls, to run our cable infrastructure? Yes, depending on the location. The building has a pipe chase with cable trays in the basements.
• Do we need to use conduit? If yes, what do you estimate the total conduit footage will be? In some exterior areas you will need to install conduit. 200 linear feet estimated.
CCTV:
• Are you planning to use the existing Command Control (SOC) for the new CCTV
System? No.
• Is there a plan new for a new command control system? No.
• If yes, how far apart will the new Command Control be from the old command control system? N/A
• Is there a special room with HVAC allocated for the new Servers? Yes.
• Do you presently have a Milestone VMS? No.
• How many cameras are interior, and can you provide a floor plan? See provided floor plan.
• How many cameras are to be installed on a roof, and how high is it; and can you provide a drawing? None on roof tops.
• How many cameras will be installed outside the building? See provided floor plan attached to SOW.
• Do you need 360-degree view in some areas? Can you specify what areas? See Scope of Work
• Do you need Pan/Tilt/Zoom for some areas? Please provide location areas. See Scope of Work
• Is there a parking area to be viewed by any camera? Yes. If yes, please specify what type of camera? See Scope of Work
• Is there a requirement to install some cameras on poles? Yes
• If yes, is there an existing connection to existing conduit to the poles? Yes and no. See provided exterior plan attached to SOW.
• Are they going to be standalone cameras, as in not connected to the facility’s network?
No.
• How much storage is needed for the CCTV Video recording? See scope of work
(government provided).
IT Security, Network and Cyber Security:
Is the system installed in a secure network provided by the government? Yes.
How often does the contractor shall participate in a Continuous Monitoring Strategy and methods or shall provide a Continuous Monitoring capability that the DOI determines acceptable. See Scope of Work.
Will the hardening (applying STIGs. FISMA recommended images for the OS, etc.) of the servers will be done by the contractors? No. Or will it be handled by DOI IT staff?
DOI IT staff.
Will the contractor have to provide an IT Security Plan for the proposed IT systems? No.
Does the entire system need to be compliant to FISMA? No.
Is it the responsibility of the security integrator to address the cyber risk of these systems? No.
