About this file
This document contains Responses to Request for Information (RFI) for a Video Surveillance System project for the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management. The key details reveal that the agency requires a standalone video surveillance system with no annual costs, utilizing an NVR (Network Video Recorder) with 4K Ultra HD capabilities. The existing infrastructure includes CAT 5 cables connecting the dispatch building and warehouse, spanning approximately 30 feet, which are compatible with the proposed IP camera system.
The RFI responses clarify technical specifications, confirming the current system is a LOREX 4K Ultra HD NVR using CAT5e cables, and addressing potential reuse of existing wiring. The agency specifically seeks a system without recurring annual fees, emphasizing a one-time purchase approach. The solicitation (140L3625Q0016) is for the NCMD Dispatch Security System, focusing on implementing a comprehensive video surveillance solution that can potentially leverage existing network infrastructure between the dispatch building and warehouse locations.

Is it safe to say this project is only for Video Surveillance System?
· Yes this project is only for a Video surveillance system
Someone had mentioned you are currently operating a LOREX system and that the wires could be reused if possible. However, in the answering of questions, one remarked that you currently have a DVR, is that an oversight, is it an NVR and not a DVR?
DVR = Analog cameras, using coax/Siamese cabling NVR = IP cameras, using data cable (cat5/Cat6).
· The current system is a LOREX 4K Ultra HD NVR utilizing CAT5e cables
I read there is existing lines ran between the dispatch building and the fire station/warehouse, can you confirm if they are coax (analog cameras), fiber, or a category wire (5/6)?
· If it is coax (analog camera system) then do you know what the footage is from the location of what will be the new NVR to what would be a PoE network switch in the warehouse? (it’s important to know, cause video for analog cameras can travel much farther, than video for ip cameras on category wire, however if the existing system is IP and not Analog, then no worries, we at least know it’s withing range for the video feed to work)
· They are CAT 5 cables but it is approximately 30 feet between the dispatch building and the warehouse
Are you willing to pay a yearly fee for a solution or are you wanting a stand-alone, no annual costs?
· We require a stand alone system, no annual cost.
