NATIONAL BLACK FOOTED FERRET CONSERVATION CENTER REHAB
CONTRACTOR QUESTIONS
Date: 08/22/2019 Purpose: Questions and Answers for Pre-Bid Author: Vendors / Eric G. Harris
Memorandum:
The following are questions received from potential contractors reviewing the design documents for the National Black Footed Ferret Conservation Center Rehab project. The answers are provided, as best as possible, for use by all contractors.
1. On page 39 of 43 of the Solicitation it indicates that the time period to work in the Breeding building is from October 28th thru November 29th. Are there any other times work will be allowed within the Breeding Building?
Answer: Work on the Breeding Building HVAC, within the Breeding Rooms, is to be limited to October 15th through December 21st in any given year. Other work can be completed outside of the individual breeding rooms as coordinated with the staff (wiring, controls, selective demolition, etc.).
2. Is there a specification or basis of design for the security camera? If not can an allowance be provided by owner so all bidders are bidding comparative on this item?
Answer: No specific specifications are available. Contractor to provide equipment which can meet the needs as noted on sheets A10 and A11. Camera is to be fixed in place (although adjustable for tuning view) and rated for outdoor placement able to withstand northern Colorado weather conditions of wind, rain, snow, temperature, etc.
3. A note on this sheet (A40) indicates replacement of the original HVAC units and condensers with similar units. Please provide information on the existing units.
Answer: Refer to the attached pages from the original design documents.
4. Are there any working restrictions for work on the Quarantine Building?
Answer: There are some work restrictions as half of the building is used for containment and observation of captured prairie dogs. However, this building is not as sensitive to disturbance as the Breeding Building. Coordination with the staff will be necessary but should not be restrictive.
