All Trucks are to enter NIST via “F” Gate along Muddy Branch Road, between 6:00 am and 3:30 pm daily.
No deliveries will be allowed after 4:30 pm. The term “Trucks” include such vehicles as pick-ups with storage compartments, delivery trucks, delivery vans, and tractor center. Trucks arriving through Gate F will be directed to the Truck Inspection Station. At Truck inspection, trucks will be registered, inspected, and the drivers will be granted access. Any truck which exits the installation will have to be re-inspected upon re-entry. A vehicle dashboard placard will be placed within the truck. Placards change daily.
NIST Truck Inspection Station hours are:
6:00am -3:30pm at Gate F
6.3. Badging
Due to security requirements, the contractor shall submit completed badge applications for all employees (and/or subcontractor employees) who require “frequent” access to NIST for field services, and who do not already have a valid NIST badge.
Contractor personnel, to include subcontractors, associated with this project, and who require more than 14 days of access to the NIST site under this contract, will need to obtain a NIST “PIV” badge from the NIST Emergency Services Office for unescorted access privileges.
The badging process will require the submission of PIV badge application forms; and once the badge forms are complete and accepted by Security, each technician will be required to complete an online application called eAPP. Once the eAPP is complete and accepted, the technician will be notified to make an appointment to go to the badge office for fingerprinting. Once the fingerprints have been obtained, a background check will be initiated. Once the background check has been completed, the Contractor’s employees or subcontractors will need to make a second appointment with the badge office to take a photo and receive the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential badge. Please expect the process to take 120 days, at minimum, to obtain an official NIST PIV Badge.
Also, a temporary “FAC” badge may be provided for a one-year period, if more than 14 trips onsite are required in less than a year span of time. “Paper badges are available for individuals who infrequently visit the NIST site, for less than 14 trips per 365 days.
