About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a UPS replacement project for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The project requires replacing a non-functional Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system in the Applied and Computational Mathematics Division's computer server room, which currently poses electrical hazards. The contractor must deliver and install a new 15KVA APC Smart-UPS RT 208V system, including a server rack, cable trough, data cable partitions, and complete electrical infrastructure within 30 days of award.
Key deliverables include a fully installed and operational UPS system, verified 208 VAC/100-amp service connection, overhead and rack-level wiring connections, secured basket tray for structured cabling, and electrical connectivity for IT server racks. The contractor must provide all new equipment, perform complete installation at NIST Building 225, Room A119-1, and will be paid 100% upon successful installation, testing, and acceptance. The project includes a minimum one-year warranty, and the contractor must comply with NIST's strict security and safety requirements, including obtaining identification badges and registering vehicles on the restricted campus.

Technology (NIST) currently has a non-functional Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system located within the Applied and Computational Mathematics Division (ACM). The non-functional UPS and electrical supply issues pose multiple hazards including electrical shock, fire, and power surge risk capable of destroying NIST IT. Therefore, it is critical to eliminate these hazards with a UPS replacement.
Purpose/Objective: The purpose of this requirement is to replace a non-functional UPS system and install a new 208 VAC, 15KVA UPS within a standard server rack. This work includes all necessary electrical infrastructure to support the new UPS and to ensure reliable power distribution to division servers.
