Statement of Work: B101 – New Receptacles at Veranda 1
Version 1.0 (2019) January 26, 2024
TITLE: B101 – New Receptacles at Veranda Requesting Lab/Division/Group: OFPM/FIG 195.02
General Statement of Need:
Installation of receptacles at veranda area of B101.
Background:
With the influx of technology there is a need for patrons to charge electronic devices. This project adds receptacles at the exterior veranda area to serve patrons using the library facility.
Objective(s):
To provide receptacles in the exterior veranda area so that patrons can charge their portable electronic devices.
Scope/General Requirements The contractor will provide all necessary labor, transportation, equipment, materials, expertise, tools, supervision, and management required to perform all activities within the scope of this contract. The contractor shall comply with applicable codes including NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E.
Activities may consist of, but not limited to:
• Tie into existing electrical circuit.
• Adding receptacles in the exterior veranda area. Existing circuit is not equipped with an equipment grounding conductor. Provide GFCI receptacles and additional receptacles supplied trough this GFCI per NFPA 70, 406.4 (D)(2).
Tasks/Specific Requirements Task 1 – Installation of receptacles Confirm existing conditions:
• Per preliminary survey: Three (3) ¾” conduits identified in existing junction identified as PB1-53-PP#19 located in existing column. Conduits include each: 2 #10 conductors (existing circuit PB1-53-PP#19), 4 #10 conductors (homerun for existing circuits PB1- 53-PP#19/21/23), 3#10 conductors (existing circuits PB1-53-PP#21/23).
• Use of shared neutral.
• No equipment grounding conductor.
• Identify and tag existing circuits.

Task 2 – Installation of new receptacles Install new circuit with receptacles as follows:
• Intercept existing circuit PB1-53-PP#21 in column inside library. Assume replacement of existing junction box in column. Patch and paint drywall as needed.
• Route circuit from the inside column
• Install six (6) new weatherproof receptacles from intercepted circuit PB1-53-PP#21.
• New receptacles in circuit PB1-53-PP#21 to be routed in surface mounted conduit along existing granite base. Provide a ground-fault circuit-interrupter at the beginning of the circuit run. Comply with NFPA 70, 406.04(D)(2).
• Replace existing exterior at columns near stair entrances.
• Refer to attachments “Original Power Library Bldg 101” and “Circuit Routing Along
Granite Base” for additional information.
• Provide two price proposals: one based on aluminum rigid conduit system (to include fittings and supports) and one bid alternate based on professionally painted aluminum rigid conduit system (to include fittings and supports) to match existing granite base color. Product shall comply with NFPA 70, 344 (available conduit manufactures include but are not limited to Allied Tube and Conduit, and Wheatland
Tube).

Security Contractor to submit a security plan within 21 days of award. The following is to be addressed
• Access control for contractor personnel (background checks, clearances, alien status, etc.);

• Vehicular access (construction worker parking, construction material deliveries);

• Security of construction plans (hard copy and electronic);
• Physical barriers; construction area warning signs; and
• Maintaining security during HAZMAT, law enforcement, fire, or medical emergency response.

Notice-To-Proceed
A Notice-To-Proceed (NTP) will be issued upon completion and government approval of Bonds, Safety Plan and validation of proper insurance. In accordance with the solicitation; Bonds, Insurance, and a Safety Plan are required to be submitted within 21 days after contract award.
Therefore, the NTP will be issued immediately upon review and approval of the Bonds, Safety Plan and validation of proper insurance. It is anticipated that NTP will be issued within 60 days of award.
In the event that the contractor does not provide the documents above, within 40 days of award, the contractor will be notified that they are delaying the project and a plan for corrective action will be required. The corrective action plan will shall be submitted within 7 days of the notification from the contracting officer.
Access to the campus will be restricted until the contract personnel are badged. Badging shall start at time of contract/task order award.
Period of Performance Period of Performance for this SOW shall be 70 days after notice to proceed.
Badging Requirements
Although a notice to proceed may be issued after acceptance of bonds and insurance, a NIST issued security badge is required for campus physical access. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that all badging requirements are adhered to in accordance with the Guidelines for OFPM Contractors and AE Firms. Further, the contractor is responsible for directly communicating with the assigned COR regarding any delay in the badging process.
