About this file
This document is a Certification Relating to the Hardening of State Government, specifically tied to Executive Order GA-48, involving a college contracting process. The certification requires respondents to confirm that their company, including holding companies and subsidiaries, is not listed on specific national defense authorization act sections, not owned by a government on the U.S. Department of Commerce's foreign adversaries list, and not controlled by governing bodies from countries on that list. The document provides a binary choice for respondents to either agree or disagree with these terms, with space for signature, printed name, title, and date.
The certification essentially serves as a security screening mechanism for potential contractors, preventing the college from entering into new contracts, extensions, or renewals with companies that have specific foreign government connections or are identified on U.S. government watchlists. By requiring this certification, the college aims to mitigate potential national security risks and ensure that its vendors meet specific compliance standards related to foreign entity involvement, particularly those associated with countries deemed adversarial by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
