About this file

This is a minimum insurance requirements document for the FEMA Emergency Food Services project administered by Broward County's Water and Wastewater Services Agency in Florida. The project scope encompasses the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals to provide catered food and beverage services following declared emergencies or disaster-related events in compliance with FEMA reimbursement requirements. Services may be provided to Water and Wastewater Services and various other Broward County agencies as needed. Vendors must submit solicitation responses electronically through BPRO by the specified closing date and time, with the County providing a designated period for vendors to submit questions and seek clarification regarding solicitation requirements.

The insurance requirements mandate that contractors maintain General Liability coverage with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability coverage with minimum combined limits of $500,000, Workers' Compensation at statutory limits, and Employers' Liability coverage of $100,000 per accident. Contractors may supplement coverage with Excess Liability or Umbrella policies, and all deductibles are the contractor's responsibility with a maximum deductible of $10,000. Broward County must be named as an additional insured with primary coverage, and contractors must maintain waiver of subrogation in favor of the County. For claims-made policies, evidence of insurance must be provided for at least three years after contract completion. The contractor bears full responsibility for all deductibles and associated costs.
