About this file

This document is Addendum #6 for a Request for Bid (RFB) issued by the City of Albuquerque's Department of Finance and Administrative Services Purchasing Division for the "Crime Lab LED Lighting and Controls Upgrade Energy Efficiency Project" (Solicitation Number: RFB-2025-623-GSD-KH). The addendum extends the bid submission deadline from July 15, 2025 to September 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time, with the question submission deadline also extended to August 15, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time. The project involves a large-scale lighting upgrade focused primarily on electrical systems at the city's crime laboratory.

The addendum clarifies licensing requirements for potential bidders, specifically noting that while electrical contractor (EE98) and journeyman electrician (EL1) licenses are typically sufficient, a general building license (GB98) is required due to potential structural modifications such as ceiling, wall changes, or seismic support installations. Bidders are instructed to acknowledge receipt of this addendum through the City's eProcurement system, with a warning that failure to do so may result in their bid being deemed non-responsive. The document emphasizes the importance of incorporating the addendum's changes into the original solicitation document.

RFB-2025-623-GSD-KH “Crime Lab LED Lighting and Controls Upgrade Energy Efficiency Project”

The purpose of this Addendum is to extend the close date and to answer potential Bidder questions that were submitted thus far:

A). The close date has been extended from July 15, 2025 to September 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm MT.

The question due date has also been extended to August 15, 2025 at 5:00pm MT.

B). Questions received by the close of the question due date:

1.) QUESTION: Why is a general building license required for this project? is this a mistake or is this required.

ANSWER: Given that this is a large-scale lighting project primarily focused on electrical systems, your EE98 (Electrical Contractor) and EL1 (Journeyman Electrician) licenses are typically sufficient for performing the scope of work, especially when structural modifications are not involved. However, if there are elements of the project that involve structural work—such as significant modifications to ceilings, walls, or the installation of seismic supports that go beyond typical electrical work—then a GB98 would be required.

Therefore, GB98 is required for this RFB.

Please incorporate the change in this Addendum into the original solicitation document.

Bidder must acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the City’s eProcurement system.

Failure to acknowledge an Addendum may result in your response being deemed non-responsive.
