GENERAL NOTES
1. The contractor shall follow as the Project Specifications, the Federal Highway Administration
(FHWA) "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ROADS AND BRIDGES

4. Public safety, traffic control, and dust control are the responsibility of the contractor and shall be provided in accordance with State and County requirements, unless specified elsewhere in these Plans or the Project Specifications. Contractor shall not impede traffic on Hwy 36 during any construction activities.
The Contractor shall immediately notify the COR of any discrepancies encountered in the field or errors identified in the contract.
5. The Contractor shall keep daily records and record changes on project drawings in red-lined markups showing changes or variations made during construction on these plans. These records (redlined as-builts) shall be provided to the COR upon project completion for government records.
6. The Contractor is responsible for the protection of existing property monuments and other survey markers. Any markers destroyed during construction may require replacement at Contractor's expense.
7. Staging areas for equipment storage or material stockpiles will be allowed only in areas approved by the COR.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
1. The Contractor is responsible for matching existing asphalt and painted ground marking, pavement dikes, the surrounding landscape, and other improvements with smooth transitions and for avoiding any abrupt changes in grades or cross slopes. Grading, milling, sawcutting, or minor excavation required for such transitions will be considered incidental to the associated items of work and not payed for separately.
2. Grading activities shall be scheduled and conducted to avoid diturbance of prepared subgrades or other previously graded areas, and to ensure specified surfacing or placement of base materials occurs promptly following grading and/or subgrade preparation activities.
3. Asphalt concrete (AC) shall be sawcut when matching new or existing asphalt, or when removing portions of existing asphalt paths or roadways.
4. A pre-paving inspection will be conducted by the COR a minimum of two days prior to placing pavement. Compaction, grades, and elevations will be checked for positive drainage.
