| 7 | Under wildlife conservation measures it states all previously painted members shall be repainted. Does this include every and all surfaces? Does this include the galvanized guard rail? | Girders and guardrails are the members that need painting. Some of the galvanized rails were previously painted and USFS wishes to restore these to new condition and appearance. Members that were not previously painted do not require new paint. | |||

| 12 | The description of work for the East Creek Bridge says to eliminate gaps between the gabions and abutment wall using fill materials. What is the material to be used for fill. The gabion is not clearly shown in the photo. Can you provide more details the gap to be filled? | Due to the difficult-to-reach location between the structure and fill + gabion baskets, hand-placed rock and pumped grout is recommended. | |||
| 13 | On the schedule of items, several of the bridges are requiring repairs to the running plates or replace in kind as necessary. What type of repairs need to be made to the running plates? Do you anticipate any running plates needing to be replaces? If running plates are to be replaced can you please provide details on the material and dimensions to be used? | Several sections of running plate are loose, bent, and/or lacking fastening hardware. If running plates cannot be repaired and secured, they must be replaced. The material is standard diamond-plated steel approximately 24-inch width. Replacement material must be in-kind to match what remains. We believe existing material is mostly galvanized Gauge 10 or 12. |
