Visitor Access to the US Forest Service – Savannah River Site (SRS)
Savannah River Site is a secured facility. We will need a minimum of three days to process a visitor’s badge. Anyone making a delivery to the USDA Forest Service – Savannah River shall supply the point of contact with:
1. Name as it is shown on your driver’s license.
2. Social Security Number
3. Employer
4. Home Address (No P.O. Boxes)
5. Phone Number The enclosed map will guide you to the SRS Badge Office. There, you will receive a Visitor Badge after completing an on-line orientation to SRS safety and security requirements. You must be a US citizen. Please bring two forms of ID with you; one should be your driver’s license or other government photo ID. Do not bring contraband onto the Site (see enclosed list of contraband items). The time for processing a badge varies, so it is best to allow for 1 hour.
Upon receipt of your badge, simply turn right onto Road 1 and follow it until it ends, back at Hwy. 19. There you will turn right again, and you will see the New Ellenton Barricade. You must stop, present your visitor badge, and pull over for the security personnel to inspect your vehicle. You will also be required to present a valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance and current vehicle registration. Once the security inspection is complete, you will have gained access to the Site and may proceed to the Forest Service Complex. We are exactly 1 mile from the New Ellenton Barricade on the left. If you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call at 803-725-0250.
We look forward to meeting you, and hope you have a safe trip!
Lawrence
