About this file
This is a solicitation for parking lot snow removal services for the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) during winter 2026-2027. The contractor must provide snow removal at three administrative sites using both plow and rotary snow removal methods, furnishing all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and supplies.
The three project locations are: Site 1 at LTBMU Forest Supervisor's Office (35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA); Site 2 at LTBMU Meyers Work Center (3030 Highway 50, Meyers, CA, approximately 8 miles south of South Lake Tahoe); and Site 3 at LTBMU South Shore Estates Area (south shore of Lake Tahoe, approximately 2.5 miles northwest of South Lake Tahoe). Snow removal triggers are 4 inches of accumulated snow for morning operations and 6 inches by 1400 hours for subsequent daily removal. Site 1 requires all designated roadways and parking areas cleared by 0630 hours, seven days per week. Site 2 requires roadways only cleared by 0700 hours, seven days per week, with parking areas cleared only if 6 inches accumulates. Site 3 operates on an on-call basis only, with Bailey Cowell (530-721-6109) providing 24-hour advance notice before plowing due to the locked gate access. The contractor must exercise extreme care to prevent damage to trees, concrete curbs, landscaping, and fences, with damage determinations resulting in payment deductions. Prospective bidders are encouraged to visit sites independently and submit bids broken down by service event to Michael J. Wheelock at Michael.Wheelock@usda.gov by November 6, 2026. Questions may be directed to 530-721-6109.
