About this file

This document is a Questions and Clarifications file for the Sula Ranger Station Water System Improvements project. The document addresses several technical and construction-related inquiries, including details about water system infrastructure, building specifications, and site conditions. Key clarifications include: the existing 6" water main is PVC pipe, there is a 10" double casing around an 8" well casing extending 24 feet underground, and a renter is present at the house near the pump house who requires continuous vehicle access. Additional technical modifications were approved, such as allowing R13 fiberglass insulation in 2x4 walls instead of R19, permitting alternative window sizes (41" x 17" rectangular), and waiving the waterproof membrane requirement when FRP is properly installed. The contractor is advised that complete road closures shall not exceed 4 hours and must maintain traffic control throughout the project.
