RFQ #1240LU24Q0012

Amendment 0003

The following are prospective offerors’ questions and the Government’s response to those questions:

Q16: Why 2" Pitless? We Recommend 1 1/4" 5/5. If you want permanent pull Rod, do 1 1/4" 5/5.

A16: The question “Why 2” Pitless?” is assumed to be in reference to a Pitless Unit Note: on Sheet 9 of the drawings. The specified “Monitor-Baker Pitless Unit” is manufactured with a bottom port size of 2-inch standard national pipe thread (NPT). The project requires reduction of the bottom port by installation of a bushing to allow for installation of 1 ¼” galvanized steel pipe to the well pump.

Q17: Don't do galvanized in well house - Sch 120 PVC is Plenty.

A17: The project is a Public Water System (PWS) in a campground. The specified materials were a selected by the professional engineer who designed the PWS. That design has been reviewed, approved, & permitted by the State of Montana and is to be constructed as shown in the solicitation.

Q18: Why 1.5" in ground? 1 1/4" Poly is Plenty Good.

A18: The 1 ½” HDPE supply & distribution materials were selected by the professional engineer who designed the PWS. The project shall be constructed as designed and permitted.

Q19: What is the reason to replace the irrigation pitless?

A19: The question of a “irrigation pitless” is assumed to be a reference to the existing pitless.

The intent of the project is to perform needed maintenance of the well & PWS components.

Q20: We are a site work subcontractor that can provide earthwork and trenching on this project. Do you know who will be the general contractors bidding this project?

A20: We do not know which firms will be submitting a proposal in response to this solicitation.

And, although it was stated that we can post the Contact Details of your business on this SAM contracting opportunity, in the interests of fair competition, we now cannot post it. Thus, if any General Contractor is interested in contacting a site work subcontractor of earthwork and trenching for this project, please email the Contract Specialist directly.
