Pre-Bid Site Visit Questions & Answers 1240LT24R0012 – Bessey Nursery Re-Procurement Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands Halsey, Nebraska, Thomas County March 6, 2024
1. Question (Base 001): Will it be a new sewer line from the building to the manhole cover?
Answer: Yes
2. Question (Base 003): When was the freezer last defrosted?
Answer: October of last year and it really helped eliminate the moisture off the freezer roof and inside.
3. Question (Base 003): Can we remove the smoke vents and put installation and seal the roof back up?
Answer: You will need to direct that question to Christine or the CO for this question.
4. Question (Base 016): What is wrong with the current cover that is on there?
Answer: Current cover is an inside panel and needs to be a outside panel that can prevent water getting inside.
5. Question (Base 017): What happens in a year if there is corrosion, would it be better to use the correct bolts?
Answer: Will need to talk to a structural engineer and get back to you.
6. Question (Option 002): When the circuit is overloaded does it trip the breaker or the GFI?
Answer: It trips the breaker.
7. Question (Option 014): How much downtime when working with the pump house?
Answer: November 17th to January 17th, else it will have to be during a 24-to-48-hour timeframe.
8. Question (Option 014): What kind of building?
Answer: that will be in the original drawings.
9. Question (Option 014): What will happen to the old building?
Answer: Building will stay where it is.
10. Question (Option 015): Does the railing need to be stainless, power coating or what do you prefer?
Answer: Please see the original drawings that is with this contract.
11. Question (Option 016): Is it just the ceiling that needs replaced or the walls too?
Answer: Just the ceiling but list in the proposal of what material will be used and how the finish product will be.
12. Question (Option 016): Is the insulation blow in or batts insulation?
Answer: Should be batts insulation.
13. Question (Option 016): What is there are more problems with the insulation while repairing the ceiling?
Answer: If you run into problems while repairing the ceiling make sure to put it in the proposal of additional items that needs fix.
14. Question (Option 020): do the government have anyone that locates the utilities?
Answer: Locating the utilities is on the contractor.
15. Question (Option 020): If we break an old pipe what is the procedure?
Answer: Need to inform the Government immediately so we can fix the problem quickly.
16. Question (Option 024): What does clean mean?
Answer: Make sure you right down what you will do in the proposal, it doesn’t mean that you must clean the building but could be clean the light fixtures.
17. Question (Option 026): Can we get a count on how many broken gaskets covers that need to be replaced?
Answer: We could possibly change the wording to have it say actual number that need replaced.
18. Question (Option 032): What is the concrete thickness and reinforcement used?
Answer: Please reference the drawings from the original designs on SAMS.gov
19. Question: Everyone here is it all prime contractors or is there sub-contractors here as well?
Answer: Everyone can take a picture of the sign in sheet, and it will be on sams.gov as well.
20. Question: Is there a spot for an office trailer?
Answer: Yes, we can provide a spot for one.
