Subject: Solicitation - 1240LT24Q0045, Sage Hen Reservoir Road Improvements;
Questions – Answers 001.
1. Q: Is there a known rock source or aggregate provider preferred for projects such as this in the general area.
A: There is not a ½” chip source in the area. It would most likely have to come from the Boise area, or Cascade if they have any available. We do have a small amount of 4” minus aggregate in the area if needed for spot repairs.
2. Q: Will pine needle and debris need to be cleared from the road prior to chipseal application?
A: In accordance with FP-14 Section 406.04(a): “Clean the existing surface of loose material, dirt, and other deleterious material before placing the fog seal. Remove or protect raised pavement markers, pavement markings, reflectorized tape, and other material that interferes with the work. Protect service entrances (such as manholes, valve boxes, and drop inlets). Protect concrete work, rock walls, and other objects adjacent to the work”.
