About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the Rosland 14 Assisted Migration Planting project on the Deschutes National Forest, Bend Fort Rock Sisters Ranger District. The project encompasses approximately 42 acres, with 32 acres designated as study units divided into 64 sub-units and 10 acres for additional planting. The work requires planting q-plug seedlings at a density of 170 trees per acre (85 seedlings per sub-unit) using four seed sources: Deschutes, Umpqua, Mt. Hood, and Rogue. Planting spacing is standardized at 16 feet by 16 feet across all areas, with an 18-inch grubbing radius applied to the non-study unit acreage.

The project involves four vegetation control treatment protocols, each with four replicants applied to 0.5-acre sub-units. All four treatments include a 6-inch radius scalp to moist soil, terrasorb application, and vexar caging with stakes. Treatments 1 and 2 specify an 18-inch radius grub, while treatments 3 and 4 specify a 36-inch radius grub. These treatment variations will be implemented at the time of planting to test different vegetation control approaches across the study units. The contract number is 1240BE26Q0020.
